Great reminder that white is not always the easiest of colors! Your blue and white picks are great, but I can see that brights need to be handled with care.

Very timely. I’m about to paint my entire place decorator white, save one accent area and the kitchen. I like whites with brights. Will let you know how it goes…

What an amazing round-up! I like white and black, with the proviso that there must be a lot of texture and patina to any woods in the space. Thanks for compiling such an amazingly inspiring post!

That’s a great post – taking what might come instinctively (or not) and actually breaking it down. Thank you. I do use white occasionally but I find it rather a scary colour, for the reasons you state – the fear of it ending up looking soulless etc. I feel much more comfortable using really dark, saturated colours, and live happily with a black bathroom, a blackberry study etc. Somehow that seems easier.
