Not sure I fancy skulls, but maps, globes and flags, yes please!

I’ve never designed for guys but was always quite surprised at how stylish my brother’s home is… and if anyone cares, I don’t think he’s gay
Aspects you mention, like bold colors, books, and some interesting travel-gathered rugs and pictures are all much in evidence there.

Guys also need to remember that if they’re bringing a lady home, a few candles never hurt anyone.

My taste usually runs neutral / masculine by most definitions. I think texture and patina are really important. Industrial pieces usually set the right tone, combined with modern furniture and uber-worn upholstery.

I love all these selections, most especially the very first image.

Fabulous, fabulous post, Lucy! I think designing for guys is one of the harder things to do and you’ve really hit on some great points. The space with the industrial bookshelves has long been one of my favorite rooms.
