I loved this section on dark walls. I am very very fond of a dark room, and as Margaux pointed out, it just calls for balance with lighter colors. I painted my own living and dining space a gorgeous dark charcoal, and have never regretted it. The dark wall color makes the room feel more expansive, instead of smaller. Charcoal is such a dynamic color, it changes from hour to hour! I am definitely for taking the plunge, otherwise you'll be trapped in a world of white walled fear! ;)

What a great post! I also have a fear and love of dark walls at the same time. Done well, there's definitely nothing more sophisticated. And I love every color here (even the sludge!) with gray being my favorite. But I think I'm still a long way from trying this myself. Such a chicken!

This is great. I think the main theme I'm noticing is, that in order to make the dark walls work you need to contrast them with bursts of bright colors or white. All the rooms are gorgeous. I'm particularly fond of the one with all the wall art.
