I’m often asked to recommend hotels in San Francisco. Since I live here, I’m probably not a good person to ask as I never stay in any of them! But, I have had the opportunity to visit a few and it seems that the choice of stylish, yet affordable, hotels has grown in recent years.

Usually I recommend people check out Joie de Vivre. This company runs several gorgeously-designed, unique boutique hotels in San Francisco, the Bay area and the wine country.
